magMany people told the Foil & Specialty Effects Association (an association that works within the graphic arts industry) that there was just not enough of a market to create a magazine targeted to foil stamping and embossing. FSEA and Peterson Publications proved the doubters wrong! The first issue in 1995 was a mere 20 pages with a total of 12 advertisers. Issues today are 64 pages with over 45 advertisers. Working closely with the association, we have grown InsideFinishing magazine into the most widely read publication in the graphic finishing market. In early 2015, InsideFinishing merged with another Peterson Publications magazine (The Binding Edge) and became PostPress. It reaches approximately 15,750 readers across all areas of the postpress industry, including graphic finishers, binderies, commercial printers, label manufacturers, carton manufacturers and more. It includes technical and informative articles that directly affect the print decorating, binding and finishing industries.

directoriesAssociation directories do not have to be boring! And in many cases, there is no reason that you can't sell advertising for your directory. Peterson Publications will work closely with your association to analyze the potential for selling advertising for your directory and help create advertising rates that you and your supplier members will be comfortable with, creating a useful resource that can be used all year long.

The 2009 FSEA membership directory received the Gold Ink Awards' People's Choice Award. The beautifully crafted cover was designed by Peterson Publications' former Art Director Eric J. Carter and featured diecutting, foil stamping and UV glitter processes.

The Kansas Society of Association Executives had never published a membership directory with paid advertising until they spoke with Peterson Publications. We took a 1- and 2-color directory that was costing the association several thousand dollars to produce and turned it into a wonderfully designed directory with a vivid 4-color cover that cost KSAE nothing! KSAE's supplier members were happy to support the association and looked at the directory as an excellent investment for their advertising dollar. In 2017, KSAE added a quarterly magazine – KSAE Association and Meetings – to its publishing mix.

Travel Guides
Peterson Publications works closely with various organizations, including the Topeka Chamber of Commerce, to produce quality informational guides that will inform and draw attendees to industry-specific events. Depending on the needs of our partners, Peterson Publications staff can sell advertising, write copy designed to promote regional attractions and manage mailing needs.

Successful events start with a successful printed program. ERC Resource and Referral of Topeka had previously used volunteers to sell ads and put together a yearly program for its annual Designers' Show House fundraiser. Peterson Publications helped ERC to upgrade the look to full color, expand upon the advertising base for the program. All of this was done at no cost to ERC, and they no longer have the headaches of managing the project. Peterson Publications staff sells all of the ads, designs the entire program, and manages the production and printing.
